Honorable Gerald Kapiseni Phiri, Salima Central Constituency Legislator-Salima
I commend the good work CIH is doing in imparting skills in establishing managing horticulture enterprises to our youth. The empowerment provided will go long way to help the youth set up their small scale business and become economically empowered. I pledge to continue sponsoring more youth to attend training at CIH.

We have had a family idea of establishing an orchard to produce various types of fruits and a vegetables at our farm in Kasungu. We had little knowledge of what it would take to have our farm professionally laid out and established until the family sent me to attend a fruit production course at CIH. The one week course was so enriching and a big eye opener for our envisaged horticulture business. We are so grateful to CIH for the skills and knowledge.

I came to learnt more about fruit production. As a practicing horticulturalist, I was eager to find out what I am doing right and wrong at my farm because I have had a lot of challenges in tree growth and development as well as soil nutrition amongst others. CIH proved to me that it’s the best and outstanding institution as far as horticulture training and service provision is concerned in Malawi. Their practical approach to every step in training is so unique. I went back and implemented all what I had learnt during the training. My fruit trees are improving and those am planting now are even much better

I thank CIH for their comprehensive training in fruit production which I attended. They have a rare skill in training design and facilitation to impart skills to the participants. Straight form the training, I have managed to buy land and set up a 4Ha mango orchard. I was able to remember from the training all the steps in orchard establishment and management practices which will ensure that I produce quality mangoes.
